think_smiley_46 We might have a run up to Filey Country Park on Sunday to give the van a pre MOT warm through. Muttly likes the beach at Filey doggy out of season. Only the proper dog walkers go in the winter, mostly owners not fussed about mutttly getting grubby.  walkies
I am not sure if the cafe at the top will be open so we will take brew tackle with us for after the walk. The Cobble kiosks should be open for lunch. The store cupboards in the van are down to just the basics like tins of beans and tea bags. Once the MOT and service is sorted I will re-stock ready for the first trip away to Norfolk.

Hi Dave
JT and Herbert are local to Filey, you might see them? The site and cafe was open before Christmas ,I'm not sure if the cafe is open.
Suggest you fuel up before you come to far from the Humber bridge , fuel here is pricey, not to bad at the JET station in Primrose valley
Have a good trip.

Hi Dave, the cafe was closed when I was there last week. We are down near Louth at the mo, found a lovely little CL called 'nutty cottage' hugegrins. Seriously. Doing a non planned few days away and only phoned them about 16.30 and so many are closed. Britstop last night at a pub was brill and the 'doombar' was nectar drinksallround. If we are back by Sunday might pop up to the Brig for a brew. (Yes, always keep brew kit and a few vittles one board regardless up!).

think_smiley_46 Slight change of plans, we are staying out Saturday night. We did think of staying at Filey this weekend but the site is closed . They are open 1/3 until 02/01. Strange timings but we will be back.
We have found a site just west of Pickering at Sinnington on the A170, Cliff Farm Camp site. It will serve as a suss out stay for future visits to the Pickering area.

The Black Bull caravan site is open from the first of March, great pub food in the Inn oppersite.

think_smiley_46 The Black Bull is the one near Pickering showground if I have got it right. If so thats on my list for this year to fit in with events at the showground that take our fancy.
Some one recomemded the site at Thornton-le- Dale. Nice village within walking distance and on the Scarbourgh bus route. Lots of plans when the season starts. allthumbz
Having consulted with domestic management muttly will be going to Filey, he will like that. doggy . I assume she means we are calling there after staying a Pickering.  biggrin

Correct Dave, lots of lovely wee villages to explore in the area, plenty of nice tea rooms and some of the best fish and chips in the country.
Whitby is well worth a visit, good motorhome parking down in the harbour area, Staithes and Robin hoods bay are  worth visit, however m/h parking could be an issue .
Enjoy yourselves , hope the weather is kind to you, watch out for the chip eating gulls good2
