Insurance advice

Post by samleeds on Thu Sep 22, 2016 6:59 pm

Im guessing I am in the wrong section here so please move me if \i am but i cant see anywhere else to put this question. Ive been trying to get fully comp with roadside * Inappropriate Word * and some euro cover if we go abroad. Is it better to get the whole package together or just uk coverage and take out euro cover when we go abroad.

Im inundated with calls after rearching online and some do a classic policy because i am a 1992 but cant cover euro cover, some cant do classic, some only cover uk and some are just plain extortionate.

My needs are around 3000 a year milage, maybe one trip abroad, fully comp and uk breakdown as well as euro roadside on one trip. Any ideas folks as my phone wont stop.

Hi Sam

I'm puzzling with roadside * Inappropriate Word *. Can't think what the naughty word could be.  snigger

Have you tried Adrian Flux?    https://www.adrianflux.co.uk

They were always very good in my kit car days, and (unless they have changed) they are one of the few companies who do not let their computer tick list over-rule their common sense!!

Being a company specialising in unusual and non standard vehicles, they are used to treating each one as an individual - rather trying to force them into a tick box, whether they fit or not.

As for whether to get the Euro cover separately or as a package, I think that's something you could ask them and they should be able to give you separate quotes for comparison. My quess is that it would be cheaper as a package, but it is a guess??

I think the inappropriate word was short for "roadside assistance" (a beast of burden!). It must be an American profanity check. shrugg

Firstly roadside means roadside assisstence, its an insurance terminology.

Adrian Flux quoted £260 including roadside uk and euro cover for 2 months

AIB quoted £230 for the same but 6 months unlimited trips abroad and same value inured.

Im thinking of accepting the AIB quote as they were recommended like Flux.

Are these figures comparable to what others are paying.

I am aware of that. It was the abbreviation of the word "assistance" that I was referring to (which is a beast of burden, or the American for bottom).
