Post by Guddy on Fri Aug 19, 2016 10:47 am

The plastic cover on the strip brake light above the rear window has fallen off and broken. Can anybody advise where I can get a replacement? Also it is not clear how it attaches unless it was glued on. Can anybody help please?

I think it is glued on, don`t know about replacing the "glass " part ,AS sells the whole light, I will have to get one eventually as one of the LED`s has failed.

Thanks for your reply. I have spoken to A/S, as you say, I'll need to replace the whole light. At the moment 12 lights out of 16 are working so I have repaired the cover with epoxy resin and decided to glue it back on and see how it goes.

Clubman rear high level brake light

Post by treynolds on Wed Aug 31, 2016 3:02 pm

Hi there,
I had to replace the same light on my Gatcombe (more or less the same van).
To be honest the job is not for the faint hearted!
Here is the link to my previous thread showing how I went about it, with some useful comments from other members.

There is also a link to the place where I obtained a replacement.
Hope this is of help.
cheers, Tom

As you probably know, if 50 % of the LEDs. Are working it's an MOT pass. 12 of the 16 led bulbs were working, so I decided not to replace the whole unit as my original problem was just a broken. plastic cover. I repaired the cover with epoxy resin and after replacing it with epoxy I ran some white sealant around the cover and left it at that. Have to say I admire your courage in replacing the light in the way that you did.
