medallion for sale

Post by ingleside on Thu May 26, 2016 7:39 pm

JUST Noticed that there is an Autosleeper Medallion for sale on ebay for £166995 should anyone be interested. I'm
still after a reasonably priced Clubman but not in Scotland as they all seem to be!

Sounds a bit overpriced, £17k might be a better price.

Yeah, looks really nice.
Must admit I'm tempted.
The thought of washing it & polishing it made me think again.
The Cluman nearly finished me off!

I spose it was more the tedium of peeling the pinstripes off inch by inch really.
That & the 4 other vehicles I have to device, fix & clean.

Pamponi: seriously, I've not had such a calorie burning workout in some time - spent 2 evenings polishing the newly acquired Medallion bodywork... And I'm just about half way through. It's a beast!

I remember doing the Clubman. I was glad it wasn't any bigger!
I do look on in envy when I see a larger AutoSleeper tho.
Trouble is I've spent a couple of years & £10k ish making the Clubman the way it is now so I'm too invested to sell it!
I'd have to go through it all again (cos there's always room for improvement right?)

Yep I understand the room for improvement approach. Always been like that with cars, houses, work...

It's great finding/getting a good solid base vehicle, but my way is to find what needs fixing/improving and make it as good as it can be (within reason). Perhaps that's a fault!

Already thinking of some essential and not so essential upgrades, but getting out and familiarising myself with the van should probably come first!

daisy mae: The ad is still on that overly popular auction site we no doubt all use. Have you contacted the seller to enquire? Seems like a good one, very low miles and one owner.

ingleside: What's your definition of a "reasonable price" for a Clubman? There seem to be plenty on sale across the country. A few cheap ones around 8-10k, plenty around 12-14k, a few around 15-17k... Travelling to view is often an issue, but they look to be all over from my recent spell of searching.

Good luck!

There are Clubmans & Clubmans.
The 2.4s are worth less than the 2.5tdi's.
Depends on condition & milage.

I have contacted the seller and yes it is still for sale, he has sent me loads of photos, but on looking at it in depth needs spending money on, I wondered why it was in the garage and has had new stripes put on, the bumper is damaged cost of replacement over £300, the beany box in the bumper has quite a large split running from the keyhole downwards, the habitation door  hinge looks broken to me, plus to bring it up to the spec I would want  a Heki2 roof light, reupholstering and all leather cab seats . plus numerous other bits and that is what I can see. as I have had my Clubman completely redone, reupholstered, leather seats, wood effect floor,  new heki2 , new side windows, twin camera etc. new model TV aerial,  I will stick with what I have. plus my van is four years newer, it was just the dinette and more room I was interested in, also loo area looked bigger.

Does look a good solid van for someone who is able to do the jobs needed, I have to pay for things that I want doing so is a no go for me.

PS     I have had another look of the photos and blew them up, looks good inside, it was just me that would want to change upholstery etc. it was the outside, have contacted seller to ask about the damage, will post back if I get a reply.

Looks like the drivers side wheel arch near the bottom is rotten on the first pic? Also i wonder how he has 5 seat belts fitted mine has 3 the 2 fronts and the one forward facing seat next to the fridge.

There are two on the dinette and one on the long settee looks like a lap belt.
