Habitation door handle info?

Post by dgm88keys on Tue May 24, 2016 7:23 pm

Hi! My 1994 VW Clubman habitation door opens & shuts OK, locks & unlocks - however, I've cracked the plastic door handle (the part one pulls on from the outside to open the door). AutoSleepers have none in stock, nor any idea of third-party vendors. Any ideas, people? Thanks.

These handles were on many vehicles, so should be easy to source, not sure on this but I believe these were on the Marina cars, someone else will be along to clarify or not .

Hope you get it sorted, I have that handle or one like it,as do many others , so could be of interest just in case the need arises.

Regards,
Margaret

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-Marina-Mk3-passenger-front-door-handle-new-old-stock-/182142235328?hash=item2a6885f2c0:g:28QAAOSwq5pXQYl2

Have a look at this, it's a mk 3 handle with the nicer (in my opinion ) chrome handle, there is also an interior version (no keyhole ) for sale with the same seller.

If not O'Learys seem to have a good stock of various obsolete spares (just google it!)

Habitation door handle

Post by George.. on Wed May 25, 2016 4:49 pm

Yes it was the old BLeyland door lock. On our 2000 Gatcombe it split on the lever opening piece. I contacted A Sleeper , they gave me Cheltenham Laminating Co. Ltd. Tel. 01452 713098. Very helpful, sent them cheque for £5 they sent new lock by return. Bit fiddly to fit but doable.
Good luck. George
