Executive 2000 Shower head replacement

Post by LynD on Mon May 09, 2016 6:06 pm

Advice gratefully received...The shower head has split on the edge so water is forcing its way out before I release the trigger hook. Can anyone advise me please where to get a replacement and do I need to know thread size or anything else if I'm ordering on line?

It depends what type/make of mixer tap you have for the shower.

A quick way to find out is to take the shower head off and try it on the hose of your house shower.

If it fits then any standard shower head will fit.

We bought a 'shattaf' shower spray with thumb control, like this:

Daisy Mae also bought one on our recommendation, then found it wouldn't fit her Whale(?) mixer tap.

Whatever you do don't go to a caravan dealer shop , as they charge anything up to £21 just for the head. Ebay is around £14 but as Meanchris says get a shattaf off Ebay for under a tenner.

I should add - take care to buy a plastic shower head.

We bought one previous to this one and discovered that it was solid brass, you don't want that falling into your shower tray or onto the toilet from a great height.

Although this topic has been resolved there are assorted shower heads on the AS clearance page which may help others (see my post in General Chat Section)

One of our criteria for choosing that particular shower head was that it must be operated by a button on the front, for your thumb, to save hot water.

We've had boats and MHs with the lever at the back type and found it annoying that they sometimes leak, as the lever gets nudged by the holder.

It also had to be lightweight 'chromed' plastic, to avoid smashing the washroom fittings, and it had to 'look nice' at the right price.

I'm not sure why this type of shower head isn't more readily available for motorhomes, for those reasons.
