Toilet seat raiser

Post by Lofty on Sat Feb 20, 2016 5:44 pm

This has most likely been asked before but here goes....I was at A/S Willersley yesterday and was reading thru the ideas files whilst waiting.I came across one for a raised toilet seat for the Thetford.I made a note of the product name and address details. This would be of great benefit for my good lady as she is quite tall, has mobility issues and we have similar in use at home.Anyway,it was late when I arrived home but did check for said product online.I have to say,it did look just like our domestic ones.Does anyone know of a seat raiser which will fit the Thetford unit? Thank you.

Hi Lofty

It would help to show a picture, or the model of your toilet.

Could you remove the existing seat and raise it by fixing underneath a slab of rigid PVC foam? It cuts easily enough and with care it would not be glaringly obvious. Silicone bath sealant would fix it in place, and the seat on top - but it would be possible to remove without leaving a mark at a later date.

Just a thought in case you strike a blank.

Thanx Dave,I was rather hoping there might be a smaller version of the domestic seat variety to fit the Thetford CTO222,methinks I'll contact them.

Hi there,

There's this one for some Thetford Models ...

http://www.amazon.com/Thetford-24818-Toilet-Riser-Parchment/dp/B0006H936E

... but I don't think it's what you are looking for.

I have trawled the net on the basis that we may need something similar soon and the only thing I saw that would possibly do the job is this ...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Luxury-Padded-Toilet-Seat-Raiser/dp/B009P4ZFVQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1455998617&sr=1-8&keywords=toilet+raiser

... and it is eye-wateringly expensive if it didn't work!!!

Alternatively, and the one I would probably go for, is to buy one of these ...

https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/toileting-aids/toilet-frames/mowbray-adjustable-lite-toilet-frame-with-seat-view-large?gclid=CJPhjbCSh8sCFXEz0wodRroI3Q

... and set about modifying the back legs so that it rested in the correct place on the top of the existing cassette.

Hope this helps. allthumbz

Best regards,

BTW, we are still using the toilet with the seat lid removed to give me that bit of extra room. up!

I may have got two new knees but I still haven't lost any weight!  Whistle1 Whistle1
