Window Trim Strip

Post by NORGIL on Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:29 pm

Having now become paranoid about my window seals.  The trim strips that cover the screws on my Clubman windows (exterior) have become brittle and are showing signs of cracking. I would therefore like to replace them all.

Are these what are known as Herzim strips ?

Does anyone know the correct size (width ) of these strips. Not easy to measure as the measurements i can take vary by several millimetres due to warping/shrinkage over time and its difficult to measure the channel because it is grooved on both sides.

if it`s the bit you squeeze and push in to cover the screws as said just phone Alan. its ordered by the metre and just cut when you've put the new seal in.

Hi terry, yes that is the strip I mean.

I have seen similar strip available at several places and at varying prices. If i have to I will ring Alan, but would rather not if anyone here has got any and can tell me the width.

I have seen some in chrome which I am thinking might lift the look of the windows (albeit it will horrify the purists..lol ) it will only cost me a few quid to try it and see.

I purchased some of this, last year from Auto-sleepers.

Its £0.50p per metre, but you have to order a minimum of 10 metres.

Approx width = 13mm

Stock code = WW0135
