Best window sealant?

Post by S10 on Tue Feb 02, 2016 11:56 am

We have a small leak around the window on our 2002 Ravenna.

I note that there are several 'caravan/motorhome' sealants on the market and wanted help about what is the best.

I need to re-seal on the exterior above a small side window. At this stage i do not want to take the window out and plan to scrape out existing sealant and apply new.

The various ones I've seen are:
Sika 221
Sika 512
Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Sealant.

Any views on the above or recommendations for some other better one?

I had the same problem on my 2002 Nuevo, I did as been suggested, But found it only lasted a couple of years. When having the habitation check at Autosleepers service centre I asked them to reseal the edges again. They took out the window and rebonded it back in to ensure it should not leak again it seems what they used means the window will never ever be able to be removed again. OK it did cost me but now have a permanent fix?
