It probably has bluetooth and/or USB input from your Phone/USB stick. Increasingly common these days

You should have a USB socket aux input. Copy all your CDs to a memory stick and put it in the USB socket.

I had the same problem when I bought my last new car (7 years ago) and nobody could help till I found a usb socket under the armrest between the front seats and guessed its purpose. Its really annoying not having that in our current (newer van) - I had to recopy all tracks to CD's to play in the van!!!!!!!!!

Do AS offer a CD player as an option when ordering new, just for us oldies who can't keep up with technology?

I doubt it, they'll offer whatever comes from Peugeot as standard.

It was the same on our 2014 Malvern Mercedes - no CD and certainly no DAB radio!!
So rather than have a number of extra bits of hardware (and all the associated wiring) floating around the cab, we bit the bullet (I had to convince the financial manager -SWMBO first) and replaced the complete radio unit with a combined Radio, CD/DVD and Sat Nav (Camper/Truck software version).
Had it now for 12 months and have not regretted the decision or the cost. Although the DAB broadcasts coverage in the UK can be a bit disappointing in some areas - at which time the FM takes over automatically but with the resultant time lag it can be a bit frustrating as you will have missed part of the transmission.
The Sat Nav has been very reliable - in UK and in France - advising on low bridges and weight restrictions.
So our solution was to spend our way out of it and the financial manager is very happy with the results!

Now what is something I did not know Liam. I knew DAB coverage was iffy so have stayed clear of it - I'd no idea the sets could default to FM.......... £££££££££££

Peter,
DAB coverage is getting better - slowly - I have noticed some improvements locally over the last 12 months with the upgrading of the local transmitter. But when available DAB is by far superior to FM.
Yes, some of the latest units (ours is an Alpine X800) will revert to the strongest signal available but the time lag can be very frustrating - drives Wendy mad!

If you like mono broadcasts, most stations are only mono, some stereo revert to mono in the evening. DAB is the wrong technology.

The Pug website does not list any version of the van with a CD player, bluetooth and USB seem to be the norm.

When we got our Sprinter, a year ago, we had no choice either but got bluetooth, USB and a flash-card slot. Initially I was disappointed not to be able to use CDs but now find that I don't miss them rattling all over the place at all. Ive filled up a couple of flash cards and they are dead easy to use and take up literally no space. My phone has some music on it and we have a couple of memory sticks which are mainly used on site, as the TomTom goes in the USB slot when we are moving.

The man at Mercedes told me not to forget that our type of base unit is aimed at delivery drivers, builders and plumbers; the last thing they need is CD cases taking up dash-top space when there are pizza boxes, copies of the Sun, half-eaten pies, plastic cups and other essentials to be stored.  smile!

That looks awfully like Mike Summerbee, the ex Man City player. I'm sure he's about to listen to a record of the Stretford Enders. hugegrins

As an aside, I've just finished converting 240 cassette tapes to digital files.

Sadly my 2012 does have a cd slot but it has no usb, no bluetooth and not even an aux analogue input. I believe that I can add a usb and aux at a cost of adound £200! Peugeot hsve to be joking!

I just took out a multichange cd player and radio cassette in working order, replaced with a aldi radio with use slot and bluetooth. The old unit still works if anyone wants it cost of postage and its yours. Seems a shame to dump it really, just not into cds. twiddle_thumbs

I must admit to not spotting that there wouldn't be a CD in the van I have ordered. I checked that the DAB radio could get TMS (test match special) as radios with LW are now hard to find but didn't think of the music side.

As for music on a phone. My phone has to plug into the wall so how would that work?

The phone here on my desk is black Bakelite, with a chrome dial and plaited cotton-covered cable... for some reason this does not play music either. I only use it to answer incoming calls because even I find dialling out too tedious!

When I bought my first "smart" phone, about 6 months ago, I loaded up some music, which can be played via bluetooth in the car and Van but, to be honest, I hardly ever use it and might clear it off; I do listen to the radio sometimes, as it is like the short-wave set of my youth and receives from all over the world- but I can't find Athlone, Hilversum, Vatican City, AFN or Voice of America. confused3
