Hello I was curious to know the amount of Auto Sleeper Gatcombe styled motorhomes built based on the monocoque shell, since we bought one we are beginning to notice quite a few about

There are quite a few different models with the monocoque bodies.

Not so many Gatcombe s or Anniversary Clubmans, there seem to be more , Clubman gl`s, Legends, Amethyst`s, Talismans, and many other models.only Clubmans, Sherbourne and another one forgotten the name begins with M, are on VW `s

Sherbourne is not a monocoque. The other one beginning with an M is the Medallion, also not a monocoque.

Sorry Paul, the Medallion was a monocoque and was built on both VW and Mercedes chassis.

Poor quality screen shot from a 1988 AS promo film shows a monocoque body shell just extracted from its mold - all in one.  Coach built bodies are fabricated from side, rear and roof panels.  AS there are no joins the monocoque body is much less likely to leak but the insulation properties of the Styrofoam coachbuilt are much better.
