Folding Mirrors on 2005 Executive?

Post by Burrow01 on Tue Nov 10, 2015 9:37 pm

Hi

We hit a bush at the side of a narrow road that unfortunately was hiding a thick branch, which gave our passenger side mirror a mighty whack.

We cannot get the original mirror from Peugeot (1996 Boxer) and quite fancy the newer style with the built in 2nd blind spot mirror similar to the one below from a 2005 Executive.

The Peugeot dealer is saying this will fit a 1996 Boxer, but also advises that this mirror does not fold in.

This is critical for us, as we need to fold the mirrors to get the vehicle into our parking space.

Can anyone who has a later Boxer with this style of mirror confirm if it will fold or not?

Thanks for any info on this

Mine is a 2006 (Nuevo) and I fold mine in so the postman doesn't catch it.

Mine is 2004, looks just like your picture, electric remote to both heated mirrors and it folds.

The ones as in the picture certainly fold in, ours ( was a 2000 ) also had the heater option built in.  If my memory serves me right there was an older version mirror that was mounted on a tubular arm which "may" have not been the fold in type

Just for info.

I bought one on ebay which only had a few scratches on the plastic housing for a fraction of a brand new one!
There is this one:

We have the dual mirrors on our 2005 Exec, and yes they do fold, but It concerns me that this tends to pull the rubber boot off its seat and expose the inside of the door to water ingress.

Just checked my mirror arm rubber boots as the van is laid up for winter with the mirrors folded. Nice and tight. Can't you stop the ends coming off the seat with a zip tie?

I have one of those mirrors on my 2005 Executive, had to have a replacement having been hit by a speeding lorry in Luxembourg last year, they couldn't match to my original so had one like this and it does fold. I need to fold in to reverse into my drive.
