What a find  allthumbz allthumbz allthumbz

The story is:-

I've been through all sorts of hoops to get my hot milky morning cup of coffee in our Exec, which has nowhere convenient to put a microwave.

I even travelled a 100 miles round trip to buy a second hand Samsung Junior microwave, that we could carry in the luton when not in use.

The problem is, or was  bouncing, this:

I don't like instant coffee made with boiling water from the kettle, with cold milk added, in fact I hate it and would sooner have tea.

I like my coffee made this way :-

1. Heat up half a cup of milk to about 60C
2. Add a teaspoon of granulated coffee and a teaspoon of sugar
3. Top up from a great height (to make it frothy) with just less than boiling water from the kettle that I boiled to make 'her' tea  hugegrins

At home I have a well oiled routine to do this, which involves using the microwave for the milk but, our Exec isn't really suited to lugging a microwave out of the luton every morning and climbing across Chrissie's snoring body with it to put it on the shelf above the fridge, boiling the kettle, organising the makings (tea bags, sugar, coffee, milk, cups) etc etc.

I thought of using a small milk pan, but then I have to turn on the gas, the gas ring, get the pan out of the cupboard, put the milk in it, boil the kettle, make the tea for Chrissie, put her milk and tiny bit of sugar in, make sure that her tea isn't too strong...
Damn, the milk has boiled over and I now have to clean the pan AND the cooker hob, AND I forgot Chrissie's tea and now it's stewed  gettinwrong

You get the drift?

Anyway, today we went into Aldi, I had a look around the special buys and I found this:

This thing is fantastic.  allthumbz It heats and stirs and/or froths precisely one cup full of milk, or half milk half water, to exactly 70C.

You can use it for cappucino, latte, Americano etc. it's non stick, so you can wipe it out with a cloth afterwards, it's small, about the size of a travel kettle, only 500W so great for EHU/French sites, AND, you can put all the ingredients into it at once, including coffee and sugar, and it takes 2 minutes to make a perfect cup of coffee before automatically switching off. You can even put your cold coffee back in it and it automatically brings it back to the correct temperature.

Motorhoming for us is all about making the experience as rewarding and niggle free as possible, I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this machine.

Hi there,

My system started to look better when I read "climbing across Chrissie's snoring body"!! shrugg shrugg

Obviously, you haven't learned to just lie doggo until it's time to stretch, yawn, say "Good morning darling." ... allthumbz

... and hold your hand out to take the coffee cup! allthumbz

I would tell Helen about the marvellous machine from Aldi and offer to but her one for Christmas ... up!

... but I'd hate to change the present system and women can be touchy when they get kitchen appliances as presents. Whistle1 Whistle1

Best regards,
best_friends

Ian

Ian, I don't think you understand, did you even SEE the 'getting a smack round the head' smiley?  hugegrins

As for the 'buying it for Helen as a pressie' concept, I'll whisper this - buy yourself one out of your spendos mate, it's worth it.   alittlesecret

Kim,

The reality is that we normally drink black coffee using something similar to this to brew it.

Ironically, whenever we go out anywhere (other than a village Bar in France) we both tend to order cappuccinos! allthumbz

Hope you are both keeping well. allthumbzallthumbz
