2005 Executive - which switches are which?

Post by meanchris on Fri Oct 16, 2015 9:18 pm

Our new 2005 Exec has many more switches in the hab area than the old one, what do they all do?

There are two single switches by the hab door, one with a red light on it when on, which doesn't seem to do anything  confused3

There's another close to it, which seems to switch some of the hab, and the cab fluorescents on, is that correct.

There's a single on the other side of the cabinet, next to the bench seat, which seems to switch off all the lights, and another which doesn't seem to do anything  confused3

The manual doesn't specifically locate any of these switches

Thanks for any info.  up!

Usually one by the door is for an outside awning light. If you have an outside light which doesn't work with any switch then perhaps the bulb has blown. Can't help with the others unless perhaps you have water tank heaters.

Ah, thanks Paul, you've jogged my memory, I think we might have a water tank frost heater, which I then suspect might be the one with a red light.

The awning light is driven by the 'Aux' button on the EC200

I thought that we also had a "radio fix" switch, but I'm not sure that's the case, or that it's been disconnected/fiddled with by a previous owner.

Our radio 'overide' switch is above the fridge next to the TV 12v/aerial switch. Wouldn',t think that would be by the door.

We have two on the bench side of the fridge Paul, see bottom pic, I suspect that one of those may be/have been the radio fix switch.

Could the one on the bench side of fridge enables you to turn off / on the light when in bed.?

Yes M, I think one of them should be the overall lights courtesy switch, and the other should have been the radio fix.

Hoping for confirmation from someone with a similar model/age.

There are two switches on our 2004 exec that turn on or off all power to half of the van. One next to back door (not the red illuminated which is for outdoor light) and other on opposite side of cocktail cab. Each controlling power to lights etc at their own end of habitation area.

Thanks, that helps, as that's more or less what we thought, except that the red illuminated one doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe it's a water tank frost heater, the awning light is direct from the EC200 Aux button.
