Hope this doesn't come across as "watering" your bonfire, but that's not a lot of power for the money.

For a little more on Amazon you can get over twice the power storage for a couple of quid extra, and for 19.99 there's the EC Technology power bank (very well built and reliable) which is over 20,000mAh - I have one and it will keep mine and the wife's phone and tablets fully charged for a weeks travelling no problem.

Not a bad buy I guess though if you're in Aldi anyway, looks worth it for the ruggedness if you're likely to be smashing it around though.

Aren't these what people use for their awning shades?

How long do these high power ones take to recharge? I have a 5200 one and that takes about 4 hours through a USB so I can recharge it as driving.

I've bought stuff from 7dayshop and been happy with it, but I think that it might pay to buy something like a large capacity powerbank from a reliable and accountable source.

A badly designed/manufactured 10000+ mAh powerbank will make one hell of a bonfire if something goes wrong.

It's a fair point, the charging time is pretty relative, so you'll be looking at a full days charge for the big ones.  I usually plug it in and leave overnight, but it lasts so long it's not an issue, and being Lithium you can 'top up' while driving during the trip.

He was impressed with it and it prompted me to buy one and I'm not disappointed with it.  Been away loads with it and when 'proper' camping when touring on the motorbike is great to have that amount of power stored for the phone etc.

To be fair, most of the power banks will be ok these days, but as above I'd avoid the really cheap chinese versions that may have suspect QC.

I have the Anker 16,000, if using USB Adapter 8-9 hours, I charged from the  mains so was a lot quicker.will charge two devices at the same time then the  total output current will not exceed 3 amps. I paid £23.plus

I'm quite happy to take your word that this is a good powerbank, but I'm afraid that watching his review made me decide not to watch any more of his. Takes a reading off one powerbank to calculate the capacity of another one. divide by this, multiply by that etc.etc.. went right over my head.

I dropped one into the trolley today, nice robust looking thing, and the torch is super bright on the high setting, almost worth it for that alone. I'm off on a motorbike rally in a few weeks time so will pop it in a pannier and find out how it performs.
