Hi,
My name is Jamie and I collect my first motorhome ( Auto-sleepers Nuevo) tomorrow. Had been put off buying one before because had nowhere to keep it until I discovered there were sites where you could store your motorhome so having arranged to store it at my local campsite so tomorrow is the big day! At nearly 70 years old I am wondering if the wife and I are too old for roving the countryside in a motorhome. Hopefully we aren't and we will get a lot of pleasure from it.

Hello Jamie and asof_welcome2 from Leicestershire, never to old to follow a dream, that is what life is all about, in my book anyway, better than sitting in the arm chair and saying to yourself " wish I had done it " best thing is I have done it and got the T shirt. Good luck and enjoy the life adventures just beginning.

My husband thought I had lost my marbles and it was an age thing when 3 years ago I said I was going to get a motor home, just wish I had done it years ago. Best thing I have done.

Hi Jamie, and welcome from Hull. wave

Well we replaced our van this and asked ourselves how long are going to be motor homing. The answer was as long as I am fit enough to drive and feel comfortable driving, and I hope that will be for many years to come. Been motor homing off and on for nearly 40  years and still enjoy it.

Jamie, at 69 you are a spring chicken in motorhomer terms as you will find out when you start to enjoy using your new purchase

Hi Jamie, welcome to the forum. We recently met a guy who, at the age of 60, sold his house in Scotland, remarried, bought a huge (and I mean HUGE) motorhome, and set off through Europe. He ended up in Greece several years later, and has stayed there ever since, wild camping. The guy is now 79, and has no intention of giving up his 'unbelievably relaxing' lifestyle. So I think that would suggest that you're never too old, but in my experience it isn't necessary to go to those extremes to relax.

Hello Jamie, we bought our first motorhome three years ago after retiring. I was about your age, it was the best thing we could have done. Places to go and things to see !!! Enjoy the freedom.
