Won't run of battery without an inverter, and if so would run your battery down in a couple of hours.

You would need an inverter capable of providing a constant 500w (standard Remoska is 400w). To see how much it will draw from your battery have a read of this..

The straight answer Barbara is no, it won't work on your battery for a reasonable length of time.

I love my Remoska to bits and have been a big fan for 9 years now. If I were starting again, and spent more time off hook up than on, I would however go for something like this:

There is also the bulkier Wonderbag which works on the same principle and has an advantage in that one is donated free to a South African family if you buy from them.

If you google "ALZA" you will buy one for half the price of Lakeland, they are the same. Theirs comes with a two pin plug, so a three pin adaptor is required.
A great product.

I've just bought another Remoska from the Alza shop. You do have a choice of colours, unlike the ones from Lakeland.

The plug can easily be cut off and, being 3 core, wired up to a standard UK plug which is neater than an adapter.

I do like the look of thermal cookers however,: heat the food up and that is all the external power you need.

No need to cut off the 2 pin plug. This 3 pin plug takes the 2 pin direct. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Euro-Pin-Converter-Plug-Adapter/dp/B000NJ30QO
