Awning fitting

Post by Schmike on Sat Aug 08, 2015 5:01 pm

After a hot day at West Wittering we have decided that an awning is a must have. I'm looking at a 3m Fiamma F45. I'm fairly practical so I'm happy to have a go at fitting myself. Exposing the inside of the roof either end should be a breeze, but the middle mount is behind the cupboards. Now, do you remove them or cut an access hole in the back panel? How are they done when not fitted at build. Any ideas?

I fitted a Fiamma to my van a few years ago, I removed the necessary cupboards. It's quite straightforward. The rear mount is exposed just in front of the rear cupboard so I made a small wooden cover with a hook for a fly swatter..

Thanks for the info. I have 3 cupboards in a row. They look like 1 piece. Screws along the roof line, and on the ends. Not took middle light out yet. Wondering if there's a mount mid way behind that. It's an old talisman by the way.

My Nuevo also has three cupboards in a row, but may be slightly different to yours. The forward two are one piece, it's this one I removed. I took the doors off first to make things lighter.
