Wax on wax off

Post by Pamponi on Sat Jul 25, 2015 6:48 am

We have just spent most of this week rejuvenating the clubman's bodywork.
What a mission!
Jet wash & shampoo, even the roof. Then a couple of days of tedious work with a heat gun & solvents to remove the tatty pine stripes (lost the will to live about here).

Then applying special gell coat cleaner/polish.
Then waxing the the lot.
Did the same to the cab with the appropriate polishes & waxes.
Also replaced the aged plastics on the awning & mounted a Fiamma back box on the rear. ( that was an awful job, had to remove the oven & take the backs of all the rear cupboards out).
Have to say I'm really pleased with the results. All the black streaks have gone & it looks 10 years younger.
Treated it to a new locking fuel cap & pollen filter while I was at it.
Looks much more modern without the 80s stripes.
Just need to get round to fitting the arm rests.....
