Hi there everyone.

I am delighted to have recently bought a 1998 T4 Topaz. I absolutely love it. Its so much fun. I've just booked a holiday to France on the ferry for myself and the kids and want to take their bikes. I want to get a bike rack but have never seen one on an old style T4 Topaz. Am I able to get one fitted or is it not possible because the boot opens upwards?

Also I'm looking for a smallish awning. Preferably easy and quick to put up. Either one with guy ropes that go over the roof or a drive away. Will the awnings advertised to fit the newer T4's fit the older ones like mine? Any suggestions of where and what to get?

I am sure there will be a Fiamma or Omnister bike rack that will fit your van have you had a good look round the dealers ?

Regarding awnings, a combination of both gives you flexibility free standing with a link piece (if thats the right word) that connects over the roof of the van and is easily disconnected when you want to drive away. There are quite a few on the market but you could look at the likes of Kyam. Some one will be along with better knowledge soon and suggest a model or two for you to look at

try ebay for the bike rack as they are quite common for T4.just type in volkswagen T4 bike rack.I just looked and there is one in Falmouth on there now.
