Feedback on BRITSTOPS site!!

I recently stayed at Britstops No. 52 with mixed feelings.   I telephoned 2 days earlier with a positive result, but with uneasy feelings.  During our telephone call I was asked if I was eating and needed to book a table.  When I stated that I wasn't sure, the tone of voice changed and the reply was 'well that's the whole point of Britstops'.  (which I believe is NOT the whole point of Britstops).                I replied that I couldn't book a table as I didn't know what time I will be arriving. I felt uneasy with the tone.  I then went onto Tripadvisor to read feedbacks from the general public and found that others found the 'tone and attitude' was sometimes harsh.  I was told that the gates would be locked at night and unlocked about 9am when the head chef arrives in the morning.  Someone finally arrived at 10.15am.  I will not be staying again.  After the initial phone call -  I was feeling very uneasy and my visit made it even worse.

That sounds a terrible place.

You are correct!  There should be no pressure applied that you purchase anything at a Britstop.

Having said that, the situation you have described is exactly why we avoided joining Britstops until about a month ago ... wave

.... and since then we have stayed at two pubs and received a great reception at both! up!

The most incredible reception was from Number 427 whose Indian Restaurant was closed.

After apologising, Kirsty the owner, offered to arrange for a takeaway to be delivered to the pub where she would provide the cutlery and crockery free of charge so that we could eat in the Bar! allthumbz allthumbz allthumbz

After having a couple of pints in a pub, sleeping in the car-park is a lot better than risking getting done for DUI .... allthumbz allthumbz

.... so I suggest that you don't let one miserable git put you off using Britstops. tap_fingers tap_fingers

Have you fed this back to Britstops Maureen ?,   they do need feedback

We are not in Britstops now, nor the other one ?? as we found many pubs would oblige with parking anyway (scheme members or not) if you asked.

Thanks for the info Maureen up! just confirming it is 52 in the 2015 book? Last years was a garden centre so it must be?

Yes definately No. 52 at East Stour West of Salisbury. 

I do need to feed this back to Britstops, but couldn't see an obvious way to do so.  I will take a closer look at Britstops website. 

Anyone else with great or negative feedback on Britstops is advantagous to us all.

Sorry Sorry but its not East Stour west of Salisbury.

Definately No. 52 but in  HAMBRIDGE Somerset.   

The site in East Stour No. 66 The Crown Inn were VERY happy to have me.
