Ive just been out yesterday and tried the wd40 on my car and wow, what a difference it makes, far better than polish. One tip is to wash and dry the car first as the dirt tends to prevent the wd40 from shining. Be careful not to get it on windows as it leaves streaks. Works great on the bumpers and tyres as well as the black rubber around the windscreen and windows.

WD 40 could lift your decals Sam, some Caravan ,motorhome manufactures advise against using it as an external cleaner/polisher 
Check out the Swift groups website.
Our ground crew used to wipe down the airframes on the helicopters ,great water dispersant (WD) we used to call it rocket 40

I was very carefull not to touch the decals. just the paintwork and the rubbers
