Caro vision II -Good service report

Hi all, we were away last week and found our "auto search" on our satellite aerial had suddenly failed. That is for the first time used this year. I searched through the manual, of little help in this case but found online "OYSTER SAT-TECH LTD". They are main distributors it seems.I rang them and a very nice , technically proficient lady,  talked me through a jungle of sub menus  to change and update the transponders used to search for signals. After about ten minutes or so all was well and my fault was cured!!

It has restored our faith in good old aftersales backup, although we did not buy from them, they were just happy to help...................

Thanks for the info David.

The implication is that due to the 2014 re-arrangement of Astra satellites other "auto-seek" systems may need adjustment.

If you think this is the case (and can remember what you did), it may be helpful to post details.

Ha Ha Peter. I wish oh wish I could remember. The good lady took me into the unknown ie. the internal settings menu for installation technicians. You are quite correct tho, the transponders that were used back in 2011 to be used for auto search have changed or even vanished in all the moves on astra. I literally listened to Margarets instructions, updating as she spoke. She even spread the choices to enable best search whilst in northern europe!

I am sure it would be much safer for anyone to ring her than me confuse them!!

At least your post is a prompt for anyone with an auto-seek satellite system to test it before leaving home.

Further to the above, before I rang the above company in the UK, I emailed the makers in Germany, not really expecting a response. They have Emailed back, with two attachments. One is some software to update my vision, and the other is a short but concise manual to show how to do the update. It uses an SD card to apply the software, so your Vision must be the version with SD card slot on right of LED display panel ( Controller)

If anyone wants the gen just PM your Email addie and I will send it on.
