Silicone oil at Lidl. Empty Silicone oil at Lidl.

Post by Dutto Tue Jan 06, 2015 1:50 am

Hi there,

Lidl are currently selling Silicone Oil at £1.99 per 300ml canister.

http://www.lidl.co.uk/en/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=19726

As far as I am aware (and please correct me if I am wrong) .... look here look here look here look here

.... a light spray of Silicone Oil will help to prevent the toilet blade from sticking. allthumbz

Best regards,

Thanks Dutto, will grab some of that. It is also good for a very fine film wiped on rubber seals up!

What's wrong with using Thetford maintenance spray? It is 100% OK for toilet blade use and can also be used to prevent, "rubber seals" from sticking on the likes of windows.

One can of the real stuff has lasted me for over 5 years and the cost spread out over that time is negligible.

Hi there,

Personally, I use olive oil (as recommended by Thetford) and always have done; but I know some people like to use silicone oil.

Best regards,

Silicone oil at Lidl. Empty Silicone Grease

Post by JohnnyT Sat Mar 21, 2015 10:10 am

Hi All

I needed some lubricant for my door and window seals and came across this product.
It is very reasonable with competitors equivalents 500ml generally costing £30.
Should be enough to last for the life of my Nuevo.
Great spec works from -50 to +280c
Using it it on my pressure washer connectors too.

I go to the local Plumbers merchant and buy silicon grease in similar tube to toothpaste about three quid its great for keeping things lubricated as fully water potable.  wave
