Hi all,

The extending arm on one of the side windows on my roof seems to have come apart at the rubber hinge end, keep slotting it back in but really need new rubber or new arm, or whole window if needs be! Been searching the Internet but can't seem to find anything.

Any ideas folks?

I last asked A-S parts dept about availability of side windows around 4 years ago and the windows were still stocked then - but very expensive, and AFAIK they did not sell parts, other than the rubber seal.

If it can still be reassembled to work then you are probably best off trying to fix the one you have. Some of the modern adhesives form a very good bond with rubber, for example.

Thank you, I have been in touch with A-S over other parts and found them a little unhelpful and expensive. I will give adhesive a go!

Sometimes they can be a little abrupt, but they have always tried to help when I've phoned them.

You have to remember that they have made an awful lot of different models over the years, and in many cases they are completely dependent on other suppliers for the parts that they use. If those suppliers stop making the parts, it's hard for them to overcome that problem, and in some ways it's surprising what they ~can~ still supply on 20 year old vans that were originally made in only small numbers!
