New Gatcombe owners !
Hello Everyone,
We,ve just bought a vw A/s Gatcombe, but haven't picked it up yet. We can't wait and getting a bit giddy !
We've been caravaning for yonks though we started out ,ahem 30 yrs ago with a Morris A60 Suntor which took us all over Britain,
but eventually suucumbed to tinworm. We then went camping in our MGB for a few years and then caravaning.
We still have the caravan a Cotswold windrush from 1984 and will be keeping it as we can't bear to part with it.
I retired last year so we were hoping to be away 'vaning for weeks on end ! However due to unexpected caring duties (elderly in-laws)
we are struggling to get away for more than a few days at a time. Enter Motorhome ! tada ! Every cloud etc.
We had noticed a few Vw A/s Clubmen whilst caravaning and commented they looked well built and a nice handy size,so we started looking at those.Ticks all the boxes for us,sizewise and comfort wise and seem really well built. Although we bought the Gatcombe which is more or less the same I think.
We are in South Yorks. so are planning our first 3 dayer on t'North York Moors, can't wait !
Regards, Rob.

Hi, got a 2002 gatcombe with 29k on the clock. just wanted to say hi and where do they put the split charge relay on these vans? had a duetto before and that was easy to find but on the vw its not obvious yet so thought best to ask on here before pulling everything apart!
thanks

Re: New Gatcombe owners !
thanks for that - mine is hidden under a cover. totally different set up to the duetto and the battery looks a right pain to get out if need arises! hopefully with the battery master transplanted to its third motorhome all will be well!

LH wing Mirror required.
Hi can anyone help me locate a LH Wing Mirror glass for my 2005 Gatcombe. It is discontinued at VW main dealers and local motor parts cannot help. Not available on ebay either, thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum. As others have said the Gatcombe is a nice choice of first motorhome. Enjoy you’re travels.
