Cheap campsites

Post by fenderbender on Thu Oct 09, 2014 5:42 pm

Not somewhere where I normally go, but Haven sites during October are £8 per night with electric and hard standing, just had a couple of days at Blue dolphin at Filey, quite enjoyed it hardly anyone there, showers were spotless, pub had good food beer expensive though.Lovely walk on clifftop into filey.
Park resorts are only £3 per night with electric in october, might give that a go next week. Can't really go wrong at these prices.

Hi Dave
Pleased you enjoyed Filey, we live in Bridlington and drive up to Filey Brig when its dry.
Jaytee lives in Filey, you might bump into him on your next trip.

I didn't realise there were touring pitches at Kiln Park, never having seen a touring area in all our rides through there.
We'll be cycling through the park next week sometime (staying at Freshwater East CC site) so will have closer look this time.
Glad you enjoyed yourself in sunny Pembrokeshire.

We had a wonderful week in Freshwater east last June, it was baking hot the whole time, wifi reception was very poor at the top end of the site.
Nice safe beach 5 mins walk away, have a nice time, hope the weather improves.

Thanks BB, I remember that you were very fortunate for your coastal meanderings around Wales last year.
I'm hoping we're going to be lucky with the weather as it is awaful this weekend so will hopefully pick up.

Regarding wi-fi or whatever, the signals down there are pretty poor.
There was a lady using the BT phone box calling her daughter somewhere, in desperation because they'd come away without her husband's heart pills. She'd left messages for her but was concerned because her mobile hadn't got a signal and didn't know if her messages had got through.
Meanwhile we needed to get a fairly urgent message to one of our family and just before midnight I discovered that there was one particular spot where my mobile worked. That was out of the site, along the front, down the path to the beach and step two paces right onto the wooden bridge. big thumbs up

Sorry for going off topic fenderbender.
