email from www.servming.com

Post by oldfred on Thu Jun 19, 2014 7:42 am

Just got an an email from what looks like a legit site despite the spelling. The username they have given me is oldfred which I only use on this forum (tribute to yellow submarine). Has anyone else got this? I've used G+ to link images to the forum in the past. Is this one easier? Not sure I want to download personal photos.
Please help

Interesting that Fred,  I got an email a few weeks ago from them (had never heard of them previously) but didnt connect with this forum.
I did have a look and signed up as I can always use space for storage of non serious stuff of lesser importance to that where I normally cloud store.
After seeing your post decided to dig deeper and found  I have 2 accounts !  one of which uses my ASOF user name which isnt used a lot elsewhere so it makes me wonder if someone has "joined" and harvested user names / email addresses or the hosting company is being naughty. That however is not tied to the email address they have that user down for.
Admin is now back off his hols so maybe he will have a think about this.

Hi  wave

Do you men servimg?

I got signed up a while ago. I can’t remember the exact circumstances but it’s something the forum software sends you off to when you try and insert a picture and it automatically opens an account for you!

A bit of a cheek (in my view) and I smartly cancelled my account. Nothing to worry about though, just don’t use it (unless you want to) or sign in and delete your account.

Brod,

servimg.com is automatically linked to some forums. when you click on "host an image" it is servimg who host your images.
If you go to the website https://servimg.com/ you should be able to log in using your forum username and password and manipulate any images you've uploaded.
I've been using it for quite a while, over two years anyway.

Will give it a try then as an option to Photobucket as the free by account is getting full (mostly forum stuff like the fact sheets).
The other thing that has stopped working for me/us is pdfhost. If any of you know of a freeby PDF hosting site could you let me know I have an old Talisman (Talbot) manual that needs to go on

Tried it and it wont allow direct picture posting, only links which take you to their servers and the picture

What I had hoped it would do is like photobucket.

Host photos which it does,
Click a link and put in a thread on this forum and shows the picture in the thread, which it doesnt seem to, just inserts a link in the thread which takes you to their server

Hi Roger

You must be using the wrong link. try the direct one, which is what I have just used.

You were right Frank - I was using the wrong link - thanks for the advice.

I have changed some pictures on the forum over from my Photobucket acct (which was getting full of forum stuff) to Servimg and those which were pdf to Dropbox
