Does anyone know if the World Cup'll be available on free digital TV in France?

Hi there,

On Astra 2 we get loads of free satellite channels at our place near Nantes and I understand that Astra 2 is available all the way down to Limoges.

However, apparently (not confirmed) the powers that be have shut off the Astra 2E UK signal further south so you will need to get a multiple satellite receiver to get satellites such as Astra 1, Hotbird, Eutec etc.

I'm not certain what is currently available on these satellites (Hotbird was big on porn a few years ago; but it also had other sports channels!) so you will have to check when you get there.

Here's a useful website:

http://www.ukfree.tv/satmaps.php

Alternatively, as France are playing in the World Cup, I can guarantee that all terrestrial channels will be showing them play.  (First match against Honduras on 15th June!)

Hope this helps.  allthumbz

Best regards,
