I may have already covered this but we are only in the CC for their CL's and at the moment the MH insurance. We use the C&CC club for their ( ha ha, predictive changed 'their' to 'thieving' lol does it know something we don't?? ) any way, CS's, rallies, their escorted tours which are great, winter sun hols and RAC.
So a bit from both really.
Don't use 'any' commercial sites unless we absolutely have no other option as way too expensive.

I am in the Caravan Club, cost £46 (62 EURO) for double membership, gives discount on site fees (£10/night) and other benefits. see here http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/membership/benefits

The other main club is Caravan & Camping Club, not familiar with it.

Bonjour Pascal,

We are members of the Caravan Club which costs £46 a year to join as per ....

http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/membership/join-us

.... and you will recoup this amount of money in about two weeks of camping.

We use their Certificated Locations extensively when we are travelling around the UK and find them to be as described, very economical, easy to find (in 99% of cases) and they can be booked well ahead.

As far as I am aware, the Caravan Club isn't worried about your vehicle's country of registration and all the Camp Site operators want to see is your Membership Card.

The CC have +/-140 camping sites in Yorkshire and if you care to move around the UK there are plenty more scattered all over the place.

Hope this helps, allthumbz

Cordialment,
drinksallround
Ian

PS

The "99%" isn't "100%" because we couldn't find a CL near Dunbar despite searching for an hour in broad daylight and having a GPS! tap_fingers

Luckily, a "one and only" experience! allthumbz

Am in both, plus Britstops, C&CC get discounted RAC cover, plus they will come if off road.

Do not like the pricing system on C&CC very confusing and some a rip off, imho.

But they are more motor home friendly, both getting /are more regimental, but for more laid back camping the CL`s and CC`s are better, saying that facilities are very good at both, benefits in both, found the C&CC more friendly.

Agree with Daisy Mae I have had better experiences with the C&CC but if Pascal is just using the small CS's or CL's then they are much of a muchness. shrugg

Iam a member of both the main clubs, for me, if I had to leave one of them it would be the c&cc.

Ha ha, thanks goodness we are all different or both clubs would go bust.

Was just saying to swmbo that we will leave the Caravan Club next year as we only use it now for insurance especially with Brit Stops we dont need the range of CL's which was primarily why we joined it. We use the C&CC for escorted tours, winter sun rallies, RAC, CS's, MH and general UK rallies etc etc etc. AND being a member for 28 years they have an 'old gits' membership rate of about £25 :-)

Horses for courses, we joined the CC club long before we joined the CC&C Club and we only joined because we ended up on a cs that we fell in love with, funny thing is, we never use the cs anymore as it has become as dear as a club site.
we have RAC cover through the club and have really needed it twice last year with two one hundred + mile recovery's with the motorhome and a call out for the car.
and we have our insurance through the caravan club.
The c&cc is o.k, really don't like the new pricing structure nor the £1.00 motorhome tax ( sorry extra charge for a hard standing) lol
