First Grump of the season..............

It hasn't taken me long; having been open just 2 days an annoying observation has prompted this grump.

The site we are now wardens at has been extensively renovated. One of the major investments was to improve drainage and following the wettest winter on record there are areas of soggy soil which we have seeded.

Some of these areas are around the edges, but bare in mind the site only has 66 pitches and is in a horseshoe shape. The distance to anywhere and everywhere is not far at all.

So why oh why do people insist on taking the most direct route when walking to the facilities building? Even if this results in plummeting calf deep in soft soil, when just one foot to the side allows them to walk on firm (ish) grass.

The result of their "straight lining" is messy floors in the facilities building (even more annoying when we have cleaned them) and re-digging, hole filling, raking and seeding where their big blooming boots have sunk in the soil...............  

I bet you have missed these grumps of mine, but I am sure there will be many many more to come  

Electric fences and land mines should sort em, johnandeva,    

Town Planners call them "Rat Runs" and they can be seen across EVERY corner of EVERY piece of public land!!   

It means that someone put the paths in the wrong place.  Sorry!

Ian, funnily enough I had considered building a replica Japanese Ornamental Garden Bridge out of old pallets but decided they would walk around that rather than over it

Ha Ha guys, Nothing like a good moan and yes revenge is sweet   

Fortunately there are NO on site TV hook up points so we won't get roped into that one. Have had a few asking which way to point their aerials though which is easy enough to sort out

Oh, okay, maybe Yorkshire women, but that's about all I can think of!     


 

Thats it then, we're shortly coming up to Harrogate to a trade-show & will be bringing the wellies, walking across the grass/mud & depositing it in the shower-block, then asking where the tv points are & which way to point the aerial, ask for a loan of an ehu lead  & while we're at it, get you to bump-start the van, fetch the milk, ask if you can empty the carsey, then complain about the state of the pitches,grass & facultys,  oh yeh, we'll be arriving around midnight, so would appreciate if you can greet us, show us to the pitch & generally help setting everything up.  

A cuppa & sticky-bun upon arrival would be a nice gesture as well.

The residents of Harrogate are much too posh to permit people from Barnsley to visit.
